Frantzen's Scenic Acres is a family-operated farm.  The farm was purchased by Dale's parents, Frank and Alta (Saddlemire) Frantzen, in the mid-1940s as a working dairy farm with 135 acres.  The farm is located in the rural and scenic Albany county town of Knox, NY.

Today, Dale and Cheryl along with their children, Sarah and Adam, use the farm to raise chicken, turkey, duck, goose, Silver Fox rabbit and Scottish Highland beef, as well as free-range eggs and seasonal vegetables.

We endeavor to stay true to the heritage breeds of animals that we believe will sustain us into the future.  Heritage breeds have been around for hundreds of years - although some have become almost extinct.  Heritage breeds grow slower and more naturally on pasture than do "man-created" breeds.  That slower growth that is natural to the animal intensifies the flavor of the meat, making it far superior in flavor.  An added benefit of animals grazing and foraging their food from the land are the natural minerals that are passed along to humans upon consumption.

All of our products are free of antibiotics, hormones, insecticides and pesticides.  We use insecticide-free, locally grown grain that is ground to order fresh for us to supplement the poultry.

Visit us at the Delmar Farmers' Market Saturday mornings, June through December at the Bethlehem Middle School.  We also sell from the farm by appointment.
